For now, we’re going to compare the Mazda CX-5 to the Honda CR-V, a popular, formidable competitor. We know that the car-buying process can be stressful and confusing, so we are trying to help in any way we can. We’ve done some preliminary research on these two vehicles. These two crossovers are identically priced, yet the Mazda CX-5 comes with more base amenities. Not only does it have SiriusXM and voice recognition, but MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment comes standard and is exclusive to the automaker. We said we’d talk about the additional engine option and we’re people of our word. It took a long time for the 2018 Mazda6 to get a turbocharged engine, and it has been a great success. Like the Mazda6, the Mazda CX-5 has been missing some extra horsepower for quite some time. That has finally changed for the 2019 model. The Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trim levels come standard with a 250-horsepower SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine. This engine will surely make your drive more enjoyable and it maintains a respectable fuel economy of 27 highway mpg and 22 city mpg.
